TESTIMONIAL OF A STOCK CONTROLLER AT JAN DE NUL GROUP WORKING FOR JAN DE NUL MEANS VARIATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Stijn Goethals Belgian / 26 years
"You build something up, you see the vessel taking shape and when it is ready you can go abroad to equip it"
"In order to start my day at JDN at 8 o'clock I carpool from Ghent to Aalst with 5 JDN colleagues. At the office I first read my e-mails. The company is also active at night so my mailbox can easily be full in the morning. I try to solve urgent questions as fast as I can."
"After that I start working on my main task. Every AMOS employee is assigned a number of vessels for which he/she is responsible. For each vessel a stock list is drawn up, a database containing all parts that are required on board of the vessel."
"We also regularly go abroad to organize the storage of all parts on the spot: we instruct the crew on the database and the working of the programme. The fun thing about this is that you can see the actual results of your work on the vessel. By visiting the vessel now and then you also create a good relationship with the crew." |
WE LOOK FOR STOCK CONTROLLER (M/F):
In cooperation with the technical department you create a maintenance system for our vessels, in which the necessary spare parts are recorded and the required preventive maintenance is planned and defined. You are responsible for the listing of all necessary technical information of each vessel or machine. You see to it that the required materials and equipment are ordered by the purchasing department on time. Besides that you follow up the actual delivery in order to maintain the minimum stock required. You implement the system on board in consultation with the technical department and the vessel's crew: organization of the stockrooms on board, stock-taking of parts.
YOUR PROFILE
You have a bachelor diploma in a technical discipline. You are familiar with the most prevalent software (Word and Excel) and you can interpret technical schedules fluently. Knowledge of Amos is a plus but not a must. You will be employed in the office in Aalst (Belgium) and you are prepared to work abroad for about 6 weeks a year in total.
