Jan De Nul Group strengthens its connections to Tianjin Xinhe Shipyard

A new order for the construction of 4 new splithopper barges has been placed with Tianjin Xinhe Shipbuilding Heavy Industries Co.Ltd. in Tianjin, China.

These four 3,700 m³ splitbarges complete the list of the l’Aigle class barges of which five have been built and delivered and two are still under construction at the Tianjin Xinhe Shipyard. Delivery of the four is foreseen in 2011.

With this order, Jan De Nul Group has ordered 27 vessels since 2003 at the same shipyard: 2 splithopper dredgers of 3,700 m³, 2 trailing suction hopper dredgers of 3,400 m³, two cutter suction dredgers, 11 splitbarges of 3,700 m³ (L’Aigle Class), 4 splitbarges of 1,800 m³ and 6 workboats. 9 vessels are already delivered and operating worldwide.
