Envisan wins the ECOnext Innovation Award 2013
On Wednesday 17 April, Envisan, the environmental subsidiary of Jan De Nul Group, was awarded the Innovation Award 2013. This award was presented by the organisation of the trade fair ECOnext, the successor of the former Belgian trade shows Ifest and INDUSTRIE & MILIEU.
The main theme of this first edition of ECOnext was eco innovations. Exhibitors were offered the opportunity to highlight their eco innovation by submitting in advance an innovation file. Based on all submissions, an innovation route was mapped out helping the professional visitor to explore the latest things in the field.
Joke Schauvliege, Flemish Minister for Environment, Nature and Culture, officially opened the two-day event and visited the finalists of the ECOnext innovation route.
Judged on 4 aspects
A professional jury screened all submitted files on 4 aspects: degree of eco innovation, reduction of environmental impact, applicability and internationalization. Out of 13 participants, four finalists were selected.
The first prize was won by Envisan with its state-of-the-art installation for the treatment of sludge, oil and water. This installation in Pitesti (Romania) was built and operated by Envisan.
Ingrid Lieten, Vice-Minister-President of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister for Innovation, Public Investment, Media and Poverty Reduction presented the prize to Geert Ide, director of Envisan.
