Europe’s Fitfor55 programme has clear ambitions: from 2050 onwards, the greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere may not exceed the amount that nature or technology can remove. One route towards that goal leads to the production of green energy.

Renewable energy production

Renewable energy sources will have to provide the majority of electricity production. Wind turbines will have enormous dimensions and installation heights, and increasingly larger foundations. Next-generation vessels will have to push the boundaries of installation methods. An important role is also laid out for solar panels. Together with wind energy, they can enable the production of green hydrogen.

Decarbonising our own company

Besides focusing on the production of green energy, companies also have to pursue decarbonisation themselves. A level playing field between fossil energy and renewable energy will be the key to carbon-neutral operations.
