To connect the Trianel Windpark Borkum II offshore wind farm, developed by Trianel, with the German grid of TenneT, Jan De Nul Group installed export cables in the German North Sea.
Jan De Nul Group will also take care of the electrical and mechanical delivery of the wind turbines. Installation of these wind turbines started in spring 2019. Jan De Nul Group also has three other ongoing offshore renewable projects in Germany: the installation of the HVAC export cable for the Trianel Borkum II wind farm, the installation of the HVAC export cable for the Borkum Riffgrund II wind farm, and the installation of 36 foundations for the Borkum Riffgrund II wind farm.
For this project, Jan De Nul mobilised the cable laying vessel Willem de Vlamingh and the multipurpose vessel Adhémar de Saint-Venant.
