Dijledonk Rijmenam transformed into Summer Square

Historic Meurop factory transformed into Summer Square

Beaches, palm trees and cocktails. The project site Dijledonk in Rijmenam underwent a real change. Our project developer PSR, together with building developer Cogiva, is giving the historic furniture factory Meurop a new use. Creative partner Imaginair is now temporarily using the old buildings to turn them into a summer square.

With homemade cocktails, ice cream and snacks, they effortlessly evoke the feeling of southern summers. And there is also room for art and culture: a temporary exhibition takes the visitor back to the beautiful design of the Meurop furniture.

Open from Wednesdays to Sundays, from 11 am to 11 pm @ Oude Keerbergsebaan 8 in Rijmenam.

Meeting place

The square in front of the main building of the former furniture factory offers enough space to become a real meeting place. Visitors can play petanque, there is a small beach with olive trees and separate sitting areas. In this way, the temporary use of space fits in perfectly with the redevelopment of the iconic furniture factory, which has been empty since its bankruptcy in 1980. PSR will not only remediate the site along the river Dijle, but also develop it into a place where relaxing, living and working go hand in hand.
