Jan De Nul Group has won the ‘Blue Innovation 2021 Swell Award’ for its collaborative project MPVAqua, a highly innovative project which aims to develop a new cost-competitive technology for offshore floating PV plants.
After successful lab testing, a real-life testing facility off the Belgian coast is currently emerging. Large-scale offshore solar farms, possibly in combination with other technologies such as aquaculture, are expected to make a major contribution to a more sustainable future.
In this project, Jan De Nul works alongside DEME, Tractebel, Soltech and Ghent University.
