Jan De Nul Rocks in Benin

There should always be time for a bit of music, also in Benin. That is why Jan De Nul brought along with its ship, the Pompei, 52 musical instruments for the local population. This was done in collaboration with Rock Bujumbura, an organisation that gives young people in Benin, Burundi and Togo the opportunity to play music in their spare time.

The local project team in Benin is currently executing works to protect the coast against the increasing erosion. As such, they not only limit the effects of the climate change for the local population but also give a boost to the local economy. Our transport department and our technical department joined forces to safely package, transport and deliver the instruments. Upon their arrival, the local population did not hesitate to unpack the guitars, keyboards and amplifiers and treat everyone to a great concert. Rock on!
