Parc éolien en mer Nobelwind – Belgique

Offshore wind farm Nobelwind, Belgium

Nobelwind

Off the Belgian coast in the North Sea, Jan De Nul Group built the 165 MW Nobelwind park, contracted by Nobelwind, with Parkwind NV as main shareholder. It was the first wind contract for our installation vessel Vole au vent. Construction started in 2016, and the final handover of the wind farm happened in October 2017.

For Jan De Nul Group, Nobelwind is an EPCI project: we take care of designing, purchasing, building and installing the 51 pile foundations for 50 wind turbines and the Offshore High Voltage Substation (OHVS), erosion prevention riprap around the foundations and installation of the 50 wind turbines. The wind turbines are located on the Bligh Bank sand bar, next to the Belwind wind farm. The wind farm is located approximately 45 kilometres off the coast at Oostende and has a capacity of 165 MW, sufficient to power 186,000 households with green energy.
