Crew saves drowning person

Last week our crew of the trailing suction hopper dredger Diogo Cao saved a drowning person. It was the very first voyage for our brand new ULEv-hopper dredger, which was sailing from the shipyard in China to Singapore.

During this sailing the officer of the watch spotted a lifebuoy holding a man.
The badly weakened man was helped aboard by the crew and was given first aid. Later on, a rescue helicopter took the man to the hospital.

We can be proud of the accurate handling of our crew. Once more, this intervention proves the importance of the drills aboard and the (medical) trainings that are repetitively attended by our crew.
